As a bird book this would be a best seller. Oh how funny and you are probably exactly right.
The feeder birds can be demanding. You caught their expressions. Don't leave your window open or they'll come right in.

birds are such characters. since still the only bird to discover the little teacup feeder is the male cardinal, I have removed the seed mix and replaced it with just sunflower seeds. and here he is back again.

Hahaha!!! This really cracks me up because I swear this is what the birds at my house are thinking. Once the feeders are empty I wait for the birds to clean up all the seeds on the ground before I refill the feeders. I'm mean like that. But it works. ;)
We feed our love birds fresh food every day, too. They are picky. (The ducks outback get the leftovers).

I've spent a fortune on bird seed also.... They just eat and eat and eat---all day long, especially when the weather is bad.
