Butterflies on Water

Just some natural non-drugged beauty to respect all the heat we have endured.

(I had to reduce these and convert to .gif because I have been told that people are stealing photos and using them as their own on the net and perhaps putting up in places we would not approve!  Any of my readers could certainly have a file if they wanted and were willing to give attribution---just ask. )

  2. Such beautiful colors and everything about these images reminds me of summer...in the northeast. We rarely see butterflies here in Miami for some odd reason.

    Happy Sunday, my friend!

PS - I shut my blog down temporarily but will reopen when I return from my trip to the Bahamas.

  7. I do use a zoom lens sometimes. But actually with our heat certain species sit every so still, especially in the early morning and I can us the regular lens.

  8. Tabor, I have to go along with Friko. I have not been able to get any images of my butterflies.
Sat outside early this morning and they were beautiful going from one flower to another. Their wings never stopped fluttering. Maybe I was not patient enough but the cool morning soon became much warmer. Your images are beautiful.

  10. I'm totally impressed with your photos and your patience in getting these guys to sit still for a millisecond. They just won't do it for me.

As for the photo stealing, I wonder if it has something to do with the new way Google Images is displaying photos these days. My web stats sometimes lead me to believe some not-so-honest web site owners have found out how to manipulate the new Google coding.

  11. These are gorgeous; you have a nice variety of butterflies. Do you plant their favorite flowers in your garden?

I didn't know gif files prevented theft. hmmmm.

  14. Beautiful photos of gorgeous creatures, Tabor. You do so well capturing the garden visitors. Did those turtle eggs hatch out any babies?
Sorry the weather has been so difficult for you this summer. We've been grateful for the more normal temps and a few rain showers lately. It's been a dry summer for the most part though. Our sweet corn crop was a big disappointment due to weather and critters, but we had a half dozen meals of it and froze some so we're glad for that.
    How are the daylilies doing?
