Grayed Out

The world is in between today
Neither dark nor light
Resting easy in grayness
Soft and smooth
As an ancient pearl.

There is dotted mist
hiding the distant horizon.
Or is it haze?
It is certainly not fog.

The gulls are in
collateral colors
and play in the mud
hinting at collateral damage.

Except for one who stands aloof
Without companion
Still as a stone
Perhaps lost in opaque thoughts.

  2. Very moody.. images and words. Gulls make a pretty picture no matter the circumstances.

  4. Beautiful nature photos they certainly set a mood. I must say I love the gull standing aloof -- sorta how many feel on gray days. -- barbara

  5. We are in the middle of a blizzard here in Colorado :) Love the last photo. Johnathan Livingston I presume :) lol. Pensive - asking himself the existential question of life - What am I doing here!? lol I also love your reference to the gray as an ancient pearl... I love gray days, so mysterious...

  6. Lovely. It is sunny here, for the first time in 3-4 days. Tomorrow, we go back to cooler temps and grey skies.
