Bombastic

This tree, yes it IS a tree, was taken on the grounds of the Ringling Brothers Circus Museums and gardens now owned by Florida State University.  You can easily spend 3 days here, but we squeezed in a day and a half.  The tree below is called Bombax Ceiba, a red cotton tree from Nepal.  Oddly there was not a strong fragrance from the flowers, but I did not get my nose too close since each blossom was filled with bees.

Beautiful images, all of them RED.

Amazing - it looks like the kind of blossoms you get in a bouquet rather than find growing on a tree!

So pretty. A day and a half at the museum? I hope photos were allowed indoors...

that flower is very bright and flashy. No wonder you need three days for a tour.

Such lovely blossoms and so many of them on one tree. I would imagine that gardeners would be interested in growing this tree on their property -- that is if they lived in the right growing zone for it. -- barbara

Beautiful flowers! Don't flowers just make all of us happy? We should have them in our lives every single day.
