Not a Turkey

That time of year again when we show thankfulness by eating and drinking until we make ourselves ill.  I saw this duo in the photo below just a week ago.  They seemed to be saying "We are NOT turkeys!"  I felt it was my duty to post a close-up to make sure you didn't accidentally eat one of these on Thanksgiving.

Nice portraits! I won't eat carrion eaters thanks. I'm ever so grateful for these road cleaning birds.

Turkey vultures are great.

They are cool birds and you got some great, very close up shots. I usually only see them soaring waaaaaaay above me. I suppose I should feel grateful that they don't confuse me for carrion (my wayward son).

No, they don't look like turkeys. With the right cooking they may taste alright though? - Dave

Vultures are so homely, and yet when they fly, they are grace on wings. Congratulations on the up close and personal shots.
