Happy M.D.!

These roses in my garden today as I write this are for all the mothers who tried hard to get it right and somehow feel they failed.  These roses are for all the children of mothers who never understood the old gal, but tried to love her anyway.  This is for all those who know how complicated being a mother can be and gave up on perfection a long time ago and now concentrate on forgiveness and patience.  And for all the rest of you who have perfect relationships with your children and mother...Happy Mother's Day!  Please pass it on to those who need this message.  I love roses and I rarely ever got them for Mother's Day, so now I grow my own and cannot blame anyone but me if I don't get any!

oh tabor, your photography is stunning, as was your post! i sensed some bittersweet memories as i read your words, understanding completely that, as moms, we might have made quite a mess of things! redemption can come at any moment, i try to be ready for it when it does!
big hugs and thanks for coming by today, my friend :)

I don't know what it is, but every time I see pictures of roses I want to eat them. Weird. My memory conjured up a wonderful smell while looking at the pictures.

Your roses are gorgeous. I can't grow them here b/c it's too wet and shady, but I always stop to breathe them in when I see them in other people's yards.

Your roses are beautiful. Understand all you shared.
Seems - sometimes we try so hard - and fail so short in many areas.

Wow, I love those big, round orange jobs!

Ah, such beauty! I envy you your beautiful roses. They're so slow up here and it looks like we've lost at least one, maybe two, even though they were deeply mulched.
Mr. Lincoln (red) seems to be dead and that makes me very sad. It was the most fragrant in our garden.
Wonderful photos!
