The Hopeful Opportunist

There is an interesting story about a crow and the ring from a Monarch to a commoner that I learned on this trip...but that is for another time and blog.  Here I was resting at the fountain of a Downton Abbey style garden and attracted the attention of the local crow...clearly the tourists feed these opportunistic birds.  He started to get closer and closer until he realized I had absolutely no intention of pulling something out of my purse for him and he walked away casually and with dejection.

  7. Yes, crows are pretty crafty. They get to know when lunch is free. I notice a couple of these have bands on their legs.

  10. Ahhh... Like Ellen Abbott, I wondered about the crow not being all black too. I'm always amazed at the different crows around the world.
