Spring erupts so rapidly it is hard to keep up. I have posted a few more photos from my yard for those of you who may find it difficult to see this season right now. Of the many things I am thankful for while sheltering in place, spring is at the top of my list.
Does this "Bumbledore" look like he is wearing sunglasses? Maybe he is a celebrity bee?
We never get apples from this tree...never...the squirrels beat us to the harvest EVERY SINGLE TIME. But I am thankful for the lovely blossoms this week.
Above is a nasty invasive related to the mint family. Still, I am thankful that the pollinators use it!
We bought this pink hybrid dogwood over 10 years ago shortly after moving into this house. It has gotten very large and very rewarding over that time.
beautiful photos but the first of the bee and the red bud is amazing. she's got her little flower cap on.
ReplyDeleteThe dogwood photo is good.
ReplyDeleteWe have the invasive weed all over the backyard. I hate it but maybe if the bees like it there's a purpose for it. The bee is cute!
ReplyDeleteI like henbit particularly because the bees are mad for it, and it's out early, before other pollen sources.
ReplyDeleteLong ago I had a huge and lovely nut tree which I nurtured from a sapling. Huge harvests of filberts, all eaten green by squirrels. Never even got windfalls. But we had heavy squirrels.
I’ve never seen a dogwood bloom of that color — lovely! Good to see a bumble bee out and about as read they’re near extinction.
ReplyDeleteAmazing dogwood, what colors. Spring is peeping out here but you still have to know where to look :-)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos, Thank you for bring spring to my eyes
ReplyDeleteA happy spring indeed, especially for the bees, they look like they are in their element.
ReplyDeleteAhhh...so pretty. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteYou make spring rewarding by getting out and seeing the changes and then you get photos.
ReplyDeleteSpring is at the top of my list too. Even that weed, Henbit, or Lamiumm, is pretty, and easy to pull when the pollinating is done. Unfortunately we have very few bees.
ReplyDeleteOur apple trees are not blooming yet, but lack of sun, heat, and bees means we have very few apples anymore.
So happy to see the bee. Hope all her sisters join her and some make honey which I love.
