The Perfect Moment

I look at you
and I remember 16.
I remember a raspberry kiss
and the sun on my shoulders
and the smell of cinnamon gum.
I remember long walks
down uneven small-town sidewalks
with stops on Main Street
for root beer floats.
I remember bare dusty feet
and shiny toe nail polish
and everything being perfect.

I remember when everything new
was exciting.
Everything was pregnant with potential.
Every beginning was freshest spring air.

  5. It's funny how pregnant is given a singular meaning, but is a great word to use in other context too. We have 2 roses on our kitchen table (anniversary)

    As it happens.

I do happen to wear raspberry lip gloss.

  9. Beautiful words and photo! Thanks so much for visiting my blog and your sweet comments about my WIP!
To answer your question; I kind of have an idea where I am going with a piece...but colors and textures come as I am working on it. So it's a push, pull thing.
    Hugging you

  14. Well, except for the toenail polish, it works for me too, even from the other side. Very nice. Congratulations on the potw.

I may need to make a root beer float later, though.
