At Last

My summer danced by like the buZZ-iness of bees fortifying a new hive with sustenance.  Each activity came and went and left me with a bit of whip-lash.  Now com the months of peace and thoughtfulness and restoration.

I drove and then walked to a nearby beach with loved ones.  The wind waved flags of fall everywhere.

The beach is so mellow and solitary when not covered in summer frolicking nomads.  The wind is now louder than the laughter of former beach guests and it seems to mimic the rush of the cooler season pushing forward.

It is the perfect time to get lost in thoughts and ponder creative plans and pretend you are someone else.

  1. Yes, I much prefer the beach in the fall, without all the people.

  2. I love the beach in early October, while it is still warm, but the crowds have waned.

  4. I just spent a week at the ocean. It was wonderful! Now it's back to stacking wood, digging potatoes etc but oh the memories.

  5. That alone time on the beach is why i love going out there right before sunrise, when there's no one else around.

  7. The change of seasons certainly gives an excuse to stop and think about a few things. Empty beach shots say it all about the time of year.

  8. Lovely.
We usually go to Whidbey island after labor day for a few days, and love the peace and quiet of the place after the summer busy-ness.

  10. Unfortunately, it doesn't matter what time of year it is in Hawaii... It's always crowded. LOL

  12. For many of us, like you, fall appears as a siren's call -- to rest and restore your spirits. To be contemplative. Nature marches along with our thoughts giving us migrations, winds, coolness, and change. Loved your post!
