Dangerous Skies

We got one of those automated calls from the County Emergency Services office the other day that said a tornado warning was in the area and we should head for a basement or shelter. I looked out the window and while it appeared there were stormy gray skies on the horizon, there was no real wind. We waited and eventually we got a few waves of heavy rain, no hail like they got to the north, and no tornado touchdown anywhere, thank goodness. But we did get a magnificent sunset.

  3. Maywyn, we have been through other tornado warnings and do take cover. We were watching the radar and it clearly was going to miss us by 30 to 40 miles, so we just sat and waited.

  9. Oh, that's a striking photo! Recall my Aunt saying there was a deadly calm moments before the tornado swept through missing their house but damaging their stand alone garage, the door.

We had crazy weather here today, depending on where you were. There was rain, hail, snow, and lightning hit the Space Needle. Boom!
